Have you met Japanese Washi Tape?

Washi Tape is decorated masking tape. Originally designed to aid painters in ‘masking’ out areas they did not want to paint over. Now it has been transformed and comes in a range of colours and designs.

This tape has many uses, especially n gift wrapping.

It can be combined with jute or bakers twine to make a beautiful designer ribbon.

It can be used as Sellotape around a package (need to be a bit careful here as the masking tape is not as adhesive as normal Sellotape)

It can be used on your shipping packages for that extra detail.

Or it can be used to make lovely cards

or this cool idea

The lovely Lisa has just opened her website Kozo Tape. This means you can buy Washi Tape here in NZ. She has an amazing collection for sale. I am a little addicted.

To celebrate Kozo’s website being open I thought I would host a giveaway! Two rolls of Kozo Tape from me to you!

Leave a comment here or on facebook telling us which is your favourite tape from Kozo’s collection and what you would make or decorate with it! Easy Peasy!

Giveaway to close Thursday 4th March!

Market Round up

I had a wonderful day at the market yesterday. Catching up with Crafty Mates and meeting some lovely new crafty talent!

Songbird had a good day. I was happy with my new table set up (including shiny new table cloth! and some new packaging).

The lovely Lisa from Kozo tape was there and was seated across from me, which is dangerous really cause I got to drool over the awesome variety of tape she was selling. Check out a couple of snaps of them below.

Lisa is just finalising her website and then we will run a feature and a giveaway here.

My other purchases were from Spirocreations - an NZ / Canadian, Husband and Wife team who have recently resettled in NZ. They drove up from Mt Maungani for the day and it was so cool to have them there. You can read their blog here and their Etsy shop is here. They are still setting up so didn't have their full product range but from the looks of what I purchased (see below), the shoes must be amazing!
Welcome Barb and Issac - hope to see you again soon!

My purchases below - YUMMY

And the last on my trip of yummy things was the work of textile artist Adele Du Barry who was here from Adelaide (a kiwi now living in Oz). Adele make the most beautiful pieces that can be stretched over canvas or incorporated into a project of your own. I thought they were divine. Hopefully Adele will make it back to the market soon. (please note - my terrible photography does not do her work justice!)

So, we get stuck in to another week. I get to have a lovely discussion (read argument) with Courier post to try and get my beads from them so I can make some more things!!!

A quote from Audrey Hepburn to finish. I really liked this

"For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone."

The tags are ready!

So I finally got my act together and finished the birdie tags - that match the gift cards. They are hand cut and punched and are finished with an unbleached cotton string. Lovely!

They will be on sale at the Devonport Craft Market this Sunday or you can buy them at my FELT store.

I think they are cute! There are many more tags to come so watch this space!

Come and see me at the market on Sunday. I am excited to be out there again altho I have enjoyed my break!

If I don't see you at the Market

Have a wonderful weekend

Birdie cards

Something new I worked on over the holidays. I love birds. But not close to me. Then I am scared of birds!

These birds are OK.

What do you think of them?

There are also gift tags in the same style (when I get around to finishing them!)

Happy Weekend
