Happy New Year!

I am still on holiday but I couldn't stay away from making for too long... see below my holiday efforts. I will load these on to felt over the next few days.

Many more colours available but started with these! Finally I have sourced some black ones!
So pretty like a candy shop

These were really popular at Christmas - I have gone for a soft palate here

These are new- only these colours available at present

I love these roses - they come a blue and green as well

These are the tags that have been sent to Blendy for the Sampler packs! They come in 3 other colour ways as well!

Well I hope wherever you are you are having fun and waking up to a brand new year full of excitement with what is to come!

Its holiday time

I am having a well deserved (if I do say so myself) break over the Christmas / New Year period.

Songbird Designs will be back at the end of January, bigger and better than ever! Loads of holiday projects to try out, hopefully some of them will make it to a market near you soon!

Hope you all have a restful break and look forward to seeing you in 2010.

Shop Updating

I had a wonderful day at Crafternoon Tea and despite it being a little quiet, I had a successful day and an enjoyable one too!

Today I am working on updating my shop with a load of goodies. The earrings are loaded and I am just about to get on to the photography of the necklaces and magnets.

Check out some of the lovelies for sale at my felt store!

I hope these make it to lovely homes for Christmas!

Its time for a cup of Christmas Tea

Its Crafternoon Tea time.

I do enjoy this market.  There is a really nice vibe and it is great to just concentrate on the lovely customers and all things Songbird.

This month the market is to be held at Mt Eden Normal School. Click here for map

Christmas cards and tags will be 50% off this weekend which makes them a really good price!!!

The other thing I wanted to tell you about was Blendy. Belinda from Blendy approached me at the first Crafternoon Tea about supplying some items for her Yarn Sampler boxes. This is a really cool idea for those into Knitting (and for those looking for a cool marketing opportunity!). I am a avid knitting fan from a distance... I am hopeless at it but really love the idea of it and it looks so relaxing. My version of knitting wasn't relaxing as i spent all of my time undoing what I had down 5 rows previous as I found a hole....
Anyhoo, I will be submitting some cute knitting gift tags for the sampler box. I was supposed to have finished them by now but haven't quite finished! They will be to you by Christmas Belinda!!!

There are loads of other cool suppliers that you will know and love RW Scissors and Nut and Bee to name too! Check it out yo!

Crafternoon Tea is going to be my last market until February!! I am sad as I will miss out on seeing my crafty friends but I am also quite excited as it has been a busy year - especially the last few months - so I am looking forward to a well deserved rest (if I do say so myself).

I won't be far from the computer this summer as I have some cool new ideas to realise!!

Talk soon

The Devonport Christmas Festival inclu Devonport Craft Market

Well Devonport came out in force yesterday (Sunday 6th Dec) and it was so much fun.

A beautiful morning started us off followed by  Devonport Santa Parade at 11am and then Dance in the Park from 11.30 - 2pm.

The park was filled with activity from a Kids Rummage Sale, Pre-school play area, Dance in the Park, Westpac Helicopter and of course the small but wonderful Devonport Craft Market.

I shared a tent with the Lovely Jo and Hannah from Infusions

and we sat next to Sarah of Cotton Kiwi who was sharing with Jennie from A Little Vintage.

There were so many lovely people around and the day remained pretty stunning throughout.

That was the last Devonport Craft Market for the year, next one is going to be on Valentines Day but I will be at Crafternoon Tea next Saturday which is going to be held at Mt Eden Primary School.

A few more photos of the day below.

have a great week

The end of November - when did that happen?

Time is flying by. It seems like days are melting into making and selling and working at the moment and I can say for the first time in many years I am actually looking forward to doing nothing over my Christmas holidays…. That sounds mad when I read it but each year at Christmas I have a lovely time and by day 3 of my holiday I get the “I need to do something” jitters… Perhaps I am a Crafterholic?

Last weekend I attended Crafternoon Tea in Kingsland which was a nice day. Some really busy times and some quiet times but overall a really good day for me. I forgot to take my camera so if you want to see any photos you will have to check them out on the Crafternoon-Tea blog.

Sunday was the CCS Disabilty Action – Sustainable Communities Market. It was the first one that they had held and it was great. They had about 1300 people through the markets on a pretty miserable (warm but rainy) Auckland day. There was a real mix of Craft and Art and the food was to die for (The Pan Man with his yummy Paella and the crepes). There are a couple of photos below but I was so busy I didn’t get a chance to take any (nor see any) of the outside stalls.

Setting up the market

Sharing a table with the lovely Jaime of Porcelain Rove

Having a half stall messed with my head!

This Friday night is the Devonport Creche Bazaar. This is the first crèche market I have done but it sounds really civilised. A glass of wine and shopping sans kids… loving it. I have a couple of specials lined up for the night including custom “on the spot” cuff link making!

Ribbons and Pom Poms update. I have been waiting for some giveaway items to come in prior to the big first post launch… One of the items is going to be a wee while away so without holding up the whole thing too much longer I am going to go with what I have and have a special giveaway for the last item another time.

So… watch the Ribbons and Pom Poms space over the weekend… how exciting.
